Website privacy policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This policy explains how EK Telecommunication Ltd., operating as EK TELECOM ("we", "us"), handles personal information under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

This policy covers personal information collected through this website. Information about our employees is handled under a separate internal policy.

What we collect

  • Request Work form: name, phone number or email, job type, site city, job description, and any photos, drawings or documents you upload.
  • Contact form: name, email and your message.
  • Technical data: our hosting and spam-protection provider (Cloudflare, including Turnstile) processes limited technical data such as IP address and browser details to deliver the site and block spam. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our providers may set strictly necessary cookies for security and spam protection.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, assess the job, prepare a quote, schedule and complete the work, and keep business records. We collect only what is reasonably needed for these purposes, with your consent.

Photo and document uploads

Photos, drawings and documents you upload are used only to understand the site and the scope of work. Please upload only photos, drawings and documents you are authorized to share, and avoid photos showing people, licence plates or other details not needed for the job. Uploads are emailed to our staff and are not published without your permission.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (website hosting and spam protection: Cloudflare; form email delivery: Resend; business email: Zoho Mail), with partners or clients when needed to carry out work you requested, or when required by law. Some providers may store or process data outside Canada (for example, in the United States), where it may be accessible under local law.

Retention

Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for at least 12 months and then deleted within 24 months. Records for completed jobs are kept as long as needed for business, warranty, tax and legal purposes, generally 7 years.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) transmission and restricting access to submissions to staff who need it.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, or withdraw your consent (subject to legal or contractual limits). You may also ask us to delete your personal information when we are not required to keep it by law. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot complete your quote or job. We will respond within 30 days, as required by PIPA.

Marketing emails

We use your contact details only to respond to your request and carry out the work. We do not send promotional emails without your consent.
